BMC are proudly a free space for artists to broadcast from and a welcoming place to facilitate work experience, training and workshops for young people and the local community. If you are interested in getting involved or collaborating with them, please get in touch. ★ Paws & Pause – Dog Day CarePaws and Pause is a doggy day care with a difference. Being the only socially conscious day care in London, we combine premium canine care with mental health support for vulnerable adults in the local community.
In terms of dog care, our focus is on the fun factor. We aim to provide a safe, nurturing and enriching space for dogs and people alike. With an experienced and dedicated team of canine carers, we always prioritise our dogs’ welfare and wellbeing needs to ensure their stay with us is as rewarding and fulfilling as possible. The day is structured with play, enrichment and rest, with ample time for treats and cuddles in between! Our original Brixton location has been going strong now for three years, and with the ongoing success of our trainee programme and dog care facilities, Paws & Pause is now expanding into a new location in Wandsworth. Make sure to swing by our stall in the discovery centre to collect a prospectus and take part in some of our dog friendly activities, including agility and a dog cooling station. Humans aren’t the only ones who can have all the fun. |

It is centred around Gusita their 5 meter turtle sculpture made from tyres and other interactive recycled sculptures. Through storytelling, puppetry, team games, petition signing and hands on workshops such as tyre furniture skills and plastic bag jellyfish, they provide a playful sensory learning experience children can integrate into their everyday lives. ★ Butterfly ConservationButterfly Conservation is a UK-wide nonprofit environmentalist organization and charity dedicated to conserving butterflies, moths, and the environment. ★ Friends of Brockwell ParkFriends of Brockwell Park is a charity made up of members, our committee and other volunteers who want to preserve and protect the park for the whole community. ★ The London Bat GroupThe London Bat Group is a voluntary group working throughout the Greater London area to protect and enhance London’s bat populations.

They will also be showcasing their fully upcycled and 100% electric waste disposal truck, which is one of the many actions being taken to reduce their and Lambeth’s carbon footprint. ★ The Home of Charles Darwin – Down HouseWith its unique place in the history of science and evolution Down House was Charles Darwin’s family home and is a site of outstanding international significance. The Farm
★ Vauxhall City FarmBoth days: All day Our good friends at Vauxhall City Farm have been attending the show for many years and they will bringing everything except the kitchen sink with them. Their whole family of sheep, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits and more will be in attendence for their annual weekend trip, as well as various arts & craft workshops and the infamous ‘cuddle corner’. ★ The Sheep ShowSaturday: 12:45pm, 2:45pm and 5pm Sunday: 12:45pm, 2:45pm and 4:30pm ‘Nobby’ the Norfolk Horn stands centre stage while others are introduced to their podiums. Learn about each breeds attributes and how wool from the sheep’s back becomes a jumper to wear. The 30 minute show is cleverly devised and is highly entertaining and extremely informative, a rare combination. The highlight of the show is the “The Sheep Show Hustle – look out for the dancing sheep! ★ Brymills Livestock – Lambeth Best in Show 2022Both days: All day It just wouldn’t be a Country Show without a Best in Show. Farmers from all around the UK will be entering their best breeds of sheep to Lambeth. Come and find your voice at Sing Out Streatham. ★ 2:45pm: Lambeth Wind OrchestraLambeth Wind Orchestra is a community concert band based in Herne Hill. The orchestra was founded in 2008 and has around 40 members who come from across London and beyond, though they are always keen to hear from people who would like to join. ★ 4pm: Raw Material JamNurturing raw talent, catalysing creative development, and supporting mental health through industry-standard music and media pathways for diverse communities at our creative South London Community Hub and via our vibrant online community. Raw Material Music and Media is a creative nucleus for the communities of South London. Our purpose-built 3-storey building boasts 2 recording studios, a computer suite, DJ and music, and video production software and hardware, and a live room for performance, workshops, and ensemble work. ★ 5pm: Sarah L. King QuintetSarah L. King is gaining recognition on the London jazz scene as a silky voiced vocalist with a warm stage presence, and a repertoire that includes accomplished original songs as well as beautifully interpreted standards & some funk & soul influence. ★ 6pm: Brasstermind10 piece brass band from Brixton playing New Orleans soul, funk, afrobeat and grunge brass style party tunes. ★ 7pm: NKombaNkomba are a contemporary African folk band who play an energetic mixture of Malawian folk songs and African roots music. |

★ 12:30pm: Real VoicesReal Voices celebrates the fact that all voices are unique: some are trained, others are not; some boldly project, others are soft and haunting; some are clear, others are husky. With all these weird and wonderful combinations, the possibilities of what Real Voices can create when singing together are endless. Their choirs are based in Balham, Battersea, Brixton, Clapham, Crytal Palace, Tooting and Vauxhall. ★ 1:30pm: Rolling BrookHeathbrook Primary School’s in-house band have been working hard on creating sounds together all year and we look forward to welcoming them on our Village Green stage. Come down and show your support to local Lambeth students. ★ 2:15pm: SWeet! Recorder Consort CICSWeet!’s repertoire is hugely varied: from the music of the Renaissance and Baroque, with which the recorder is most commonly associated, through Classical, jazz, minimalist music, and folk music from around the World, to rock, pop, rap, Bollywood and music using electronics and extended temporary techniques, there really is something for everyone on each SWeet! concert programme. ★ 3pm: Cats From JapanCats From Japan remain London’s most exciting Bowie tribute, delighting packed out club shows around the capital with the very best of the Thin White Duke’s incredible canon. This four-piece take no prisoners and won’t go quietly as they smash out hit after glorious hit… Lambeth, you are formally invited to sing and dance along with them.
★ 4pm: Unity Inspire CollectiveUnity Inspire Collective are a group of professional musicians inspired by an Afro-Brazilian percussion genre called Samba-Reggae which combines the rich cultures of Brazil and Jamaica, and their mix of different musical backgrounds. ★ 5pm: Soul GrenadesA veritable tornado of funk, the band boasts a super-tight rhythm section, a wall of brass and a burgeoning song book of original music. Fusing their many influences, encompassing crate-digging rarities to contemporary dance floor fillers, Soul Grenades deliver no-nonsense, hard-hitting funk and soul music. ★ 6pm: Otto & The Mutapa CallingOtto & The Mutapa Calling is a colourful London based marimba band playing energetic, joyful music from Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana, including folk songs, original songs and popular southern African covers. The band’s set-up includes soprano, tenor and baritone marimbas, hosho, drumming and singing, with both traditional and contemporary dances. The marimba band’s sound is full of energy and pulsating rhythms – and the band’s music shares the rich cultures, histories and stories of the people of southern Africa. ★ 7pm: Ceilidh TreeThe perfect way to finish the weekend off is with Ceilidh Tree who will be leading you through a mass participatory ceilidh at the Village Green stage. Ceilidh Tree’s ace fiddles and amazing caller are guaranteed to get you dancing, whether you’re virgins or veterans. |
