1pm: Ian Vale and D-A-M-O b2b
Ian Vale
Lambeth resident Ian has been playing music in an effort to make people dance for many, many years. An avid collector of house, techno and electro, a promoter, DJ and broadcaster on pirate radio and more recently internet radio. From east London raves, Camden bars, parties in Hoxton to Hong Kong and Brentwood to Brussels. His Dark Disco Radio Show has been running since early 2019. The show started as a live broadcast from AAJA in Deptford and now runs monthly on MTCRadio.co.uk
A comfortably packed gig agenda last year featuring festivals, clubs and bars, also included his first stint at the Lambeth Country Show and was a real highlight. “Can’t wait to do it again in 2023!” Ian will be joined by Grooveschool vice-president Damo going back to back on the Saturday.
D-A-M-O
Hailing from south London, his passion for dance music started at around the age of eight years old, listening to friend’s older brothers electro albums and his Mum’s old disco records. This progressed to modern day electronic music. Damo has played alongside such luminaries as Sean Johnston, Alfredo and Jose Padilla to name a few.
Damo has been integral to helping out at Grooveschool since the early days in Streatham. Always keeping the beats slightly left of centre, he’s looking forward to playing music in the sunshine.
